Hello Region 1,

Well I hope you all enjoyed your special Anesthesia Tech week, if you have pictures that you would like to share, please send them to me. With all that is going on in the Country, I want you to take the time to thank each other and know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers every day. It is a terrible battle that we fight every day to go to our jobs to save lives, but just knowing that we go home to our families at the end of the day, they are our saving graces. It makes is all worthwhile to go through the PPE on, then off, then on and off again over and over again. You get the pattern…. But to be able to say that we are safe. The amount of handwashing and oh my goodness, to go to the grocery store is another battle. My point being, Stay safe and healthy, PLEASE!!!

As far as Regional Meetings, they have all been postponed, bear with as we work through this trying time as the BOD and ASATT Headquarters are trying to figure out how the Members can still get their CEU’s We will keep you posted here on the NEW website soon. Please keep checking for details on how to get them. Speaking of…. Hopefully you have had a chance to checkout the new Website! I absolutely LOVE it. Kudos to all of those that had their hands in the changes made on the new Website. They did an amazing job. Much easier to use which I love, right on the front they have and ASATT Discussion forum about Corona virus (COVID 19) that you can join in on for questions and topics.

ASATT has so much new stuff headed to you real soon. We have a new Logo coming along with the newly redesigned website so you will be seeing A LOT, A lot, A lot of NEW changes as far as  ASATT goes  So exciting to be part of the changes and to have you all be part of this. Greg Farmer is our new President is planning our meeting for this year which is going to be in Fort Worth, Texas the information is below. Start planning now. You will not want to miss it. A lot of nice information when you type in “Fort Worth Visitors information” into the Search bar. You will not want to miss on Fort Worth and all the fun things that you can plan to do and don’t forget there are other towns close to that vicinity that have a lot of other activities as well.

September 10th, 11th& 12th, 2020 at the Hilton, Fort Worth, TX

This is going to be one of the most exciting, amazing and exhilarating meetings that you are not going to want to miss. When I tell you that, you had better believe me, this meeting is going to blow you away. You don’t have to be just a football fan, they have the Dallas Cowboys Stadium which is not too far away and if you are a NASCAR fan too, they have the Texas Speedway that is within driving distance from the hotel as well.  Start planning for this vacation of vacations now, there is so much to do in the area, and the list goes on and on.  As time gets closer, I will fill you in on some of the excitement that will happen.

Well you all have been asking for it for quite some time now and we are bringing it back THE SENSOR is coming back by popular demand Really SOON!!!!  The Sensor will be going through some updates and rebranding, so it will look different, but it will be your premier resource for information on ASATT and the industry. The Science and Technology Article will also be coming back and yes, the quizzes will be attached to each article as well which can be taken to earn continuing education credits.  Keep an eye out for more updates on the Sensor, as well as how you can get involved and contribute.

Region 1 Director will be up for election this year so, you all will need to start thinking of who you would like to see as your new Regional Director. It is always nice to have new faces in ASATT. Do not get me wrong, I would love to run again, however I do not want to discourage against anyone wanting to run for this position. It is a lot of hard work, and it is very Rewarding and time consuming at times, however I get to work with so many amazing Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians, Doctors, CRNA’s AA’s and the lists goes on and on, that I have known for years and love seeing them year after year. However, it is only fair that I am willing to share this opportunity to others in the field the joy and love of serving on the Board of Directors for ASATT. Please consider some new faces in ASATT as we grow in leaps and bounds. It is getting to be that time of year. If you think you would like to or know of someone that would like to consider this position let me know and I would be happy to share with you some of the job descriptions and or people to contact.
