In this role, you will participate with the health care team in delivering quality health care to patients in a manner which reflects Kaiser Permanente’s mission, vision, and values while supporting the Labor Management Partnership (LMP) principles and practice. You will participate in creating a high-performance culture based on a joint decision-making process and providing support and assistance to the patient and health care team to promote population-based care, continuity of care, customer satisfaction, and self-care. You will also need to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills with a caring, courteous, flexible, supportive, respectful, open minded, appreciative attitude that is committed to a team environment. In addition, you will assume timely duties in assisting anesthesia providers by performing specific responsibilities as they relate to preparation and maintenance of equipment and supplies needed for the delivery of anesthesia care thus permitting more time for the anesthesia provider to be directly involved in patient care.

Qualifications Include:

At least two years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician
High school graduate
ASATT certification required upon hire/transfer
Basic life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers
The ability to cover call and/or work weekend shifts

Preferred Qualifications Include:

Two to three years of anesthesia tech experience
Advance knowledge of anatomy and physiology
Basic hygiene concepts
Good body mechanics and safe lifting techniques
Independent worker with the ability to prioritize activities, work quickly, and be self-motivated
Knowledge and understanding of sterile technique
Good listening skills

The Anesthesia Technician supports patient care activities by assisting the anesthesia provider in the acquisition, preparation, and application of anesthesia equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia for procedures. The Anesthesia Technician provides intraoperative support for the anesthesia provider in order to optimize patient care delivery.


·        A minimum of a High School diploma, GED, Certificate of Completion or equivalent achievement

·        BLS certification required

·        At least one year of Anesthesia Technician experience required

·        Anesthesia Technician certification preferred

ASATT has seven regional territories throughout the country, each with a designated Director, that work to provide opportunities and education for those working in the field or for individuals who are interested in advancing their careers.

ASATT membership is based on a calendar year membership term, which runs from August 1-July 31. Membership dues are pro-rated based on when an application is submitted. Please note that ASATT does not accept renewals or joins during Recertification which takes place the months of November and December.
